Day 1
London to Munich
Fly with British Airways in Euro Traveller class from London to Munich. On arrival in Munich, check in for a 2 night stay at the modern Courtyard Munich City Centre.Munich is the capital of Bavaria with a long and illustrious history. Spend the rest of the day exploring the grand avenues, royal palaces, fascinating museums and great shopping before heading to a typical Bavarian beer house for an evening drink.
Day 2
Munich
Spend another full day in Munich. Take a walk to the Marienplatz (Main Square) to see the fantastic architecture such as the Glockenspiel and the Old City Hall dating back to the 15th century. Enjoy traditional Bavarian fare such as Weissbier (literally 'white beer', made with wheat) and Schweinsbraten (roasted pork) at one of the excellent restaurants situated in the Marienplatz before retiring for the evening.Day 3
Munich to Innsbruck
After breakfast take the train from Munich across Bavaria and the Austrian border to Innsbruck. The train passes through the historic market town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and through the pretty countryside to the self proclaimed capital of the Alps.On arrival in Innsbruck check in for an overnight stay at the Hilton Innsbruck located only a few steps away from the station.
Innsbruck is city of stately beauty, ringed with snow-capped mountains. Wander around the old town, taking in the famous Goldenes Dach (Golden Roof), the Imperial Church with its striking memorial to Emperor Maximillian I or the Stadtturm for great views of the city. Or take a cable car up to Nordkette for skiing, hiking or a spot of lunch with panoramic alpine views.
Day 4
Innsbruck to Verona over the Brenner Pass
After breakfast take the train from Innsbruck across the border into Italy and over the Italian Alps via the Brenner Pass. This scenic journey takes you through Alpine meadows, and past snowy peaks before skirting around Lake Garda and arriving into Verona.On arrival in Verona check in for a 1 night stay at the Best Western Firenze Hotel. Just a short walk from the city centre, this modern hotel is perfect for an overnight stay.
Full of magic from the glory days of the Roman Empire, Verona is an Italian gem; brimming with stunning architecture, fine Italian delicacies and Shakespearian romance. Explore the ancient amphitheatre, constructed in 30AD and still home to many musical and theatre productions.
